COMMUNITY SUPPORT

Listed below are just some of the many wonderful organization the Middletown Kiwanis Club has partnered with and donated to in the past. Working with these great organizations, the Middletown Kiwanis Club continues to help make a difference in the community.

The Kiwanis Club of Middletown has supported the American Legion Post 1181 Town of Wallkill in their commitment to spreading patriotism throughout the area schools. This great veteran’s organization patriotic message has reached over 75,000 students to date. Meetings for the American Legion Post 1181 are held at the Town of Wallkill Community Center the first Tuesday of every month at 7:30 PM and is open to all veterans.

A favorite amongst the Middletown Kiwanis Club members, Action Towards Independence helps to serve and empower people with disabilities in the Orange and Sullivan County communities. Our club makes an annual donation to their organization.

The Town of Wallkill Boys and Girls Club is a wonderful organization which provides kids in Orange and Sullivan Counties a safe place to learn and grow, and life enhancing programs that help them be kind, confident and capable. Our club makes an annual donation to their organization.

The Middletown Kiwanis Club has supported Braeside Camp since our club’s early days. This great organization provides a wonderful summer camp experience for countless children in the community.

The City of Middletown has always been a big supporter of the Middletown Kiwanis Club and we in turn love working with them. Our Kiwanis Club supports the Middletown Police Department by helping with their Kids Day and National Night Out programs.

The Community Foundation of Orange and Sullivan and the Middletown Kiwanis Club work together each year to disburse scholarships to worthy recipients from both Middletown High School and Orange County Community College. Thanks to the great work by the Community Foundation these scholarships are expected to be given out indefinitely.

Our Kiwanis club traditionally makes annual donations to the Food Bank of the Hudson Valley. This wonderful organization works magic and can get the most of all the donations they receive.

The Middletown Kiwanis Club has a long history of donating to and working with local hospitals. Currently we collect and donate baby clothes and items to Garnet Health’s baby shower as well as recognize outstanding nurses in the pediatrics wing through the Kiwanis Angel program.

Our Kiwanis club traditionally makes annual donations to the Guild of St. Margaret Soup Kitchen. Members also coordinate and volunteer in groups at the soup kitchen.

Our Club has made donations to Hospice, a truly underrated organization who provides care to terminal patients in their last six months of life.

The Middletown Kiwanis Club makes annual donations to Kamp Kiwanis, a Kiwanis sponsored camp in upstate New York. Kamp Kiwanis provide a great camping experience for many children each year, including several weeks dedicated specifically to individuals living with disabilities.

The Middletown Kiwanis Club and the Middletown Enlarged City School District have a long history of working together. Many of our club’s members are former graduates and members of the Middletown Key Club that our club sponsors there. Pancake breakfasts are held in the high school cafeteria every March. Our sponsored Builders Club is located in the Twin Towers Middle School. Scholarships are also given out annually to graduating students.

Middletown Kiwanis sponsors a girls softball team in the Middletown Little League. When the weather gets nice, members gather to take in a game or two and cheer on the players.

Middletown Recreation & Parks is a great organization to partner with. We have questions and they always have the answer. They always know the perfect place for a buddy bench or where exactly a tree should be planted. The Middletown Kiwanis Club is thankful to have such a great partner in their community service projects.

The Middletown Kiwanis Club has made annual donations to the Middletown Warming Station ever since this organization was created. This great organization provides a warm and safe environment for homeless adults during the cold winter months.

Middletown Kiwanis and Orange Bank & Trust have worked together in the community for over 100 years. Most recent, the Bank now hosts our annual Flag for Heroes event.

St. John’s Lutheran Church and the Middletown Kiwanis Club have worked together for a long time. Hosting our tricky tray events, serving as a poinsettia delivery headquarters, and having our chicken BBQ are just some of the ways this wonderful organization has helped us in the past and we are so grateful for their assistance.

Orange County Community College has a long history with the Middletown Kiwanis Club. Our original Circle K club was located on their campus and we give out annual scholarships to current students.

One of our favorite organizations to work with, the Salvation Army does so many great things in the community and the Middletown Kiwanis Club has the pleasure to work with them on several projects. Our club gathers food to donate to their food drive, we participate in their holiday red kettle campaign and we help to Adopt-A-Family(s) at Christmas time.

The Arc Greater Hudson Valley is a wonderful organization dedicated to providing support to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Sullivan, Orange and Dutchess Counties. Our Club, along with the Minisink Valley and Chester Kiwanis clubs, has currently partnered with them to create the Aktion Club of Orange County.

The Town of Wallkill is another exceptional local government that the Middletown Kiwanis Club works with. Without their help, our Flags for Heroes and Pancake Breakfast events just wouldn’t be the same.

Trex is a very important partner of the Middletown Kiwanis Club. Our club recycles plastic and exchanges it with Trex for our beautiful buddy benches that are located throughout the Middletown community. Thank you Trex for your Community Recycling Challenge.

Every year our club makes a donation to Wreaths Across America and purchases wreaths. We then gather at the Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery in Goshen and lay the wreaths on the veteran’s gravestones. This great organization promotes the memory of our veterans, honors their service and strives to teach others their importance.

The YMCA of Middletown and the Middletown Kiwanis Club both love helping the children and the community and have worked on numerous projects over the years. Trunk or Treats in their parking lot, property maintenance projects and major construction fundraising events are just a few of the projects. Our club always makes it an effort to donate to them and help promote all their wonderful programs.
